Privacy policy
This policy explains what data Apneeds handles, why it’s handled, and the limits we place on how it is used. It is written in plain language on purpose.
What Apneeds is, in this policy
Apneeds is a platform used by coaching institutes to answer student doubts, plan revision, manage fees, run batches and communicate with parents. Institutes are the operators of their own account. On that account, Apneeds acts as a data processor - the institute is the controller of the personal data of its own students, teachers and parents.
What data we handle
- Institute account data - the institute’s name, owner and administrator contact details, plan and billing information.
- Roster data - names, contact information and enrolment details of students, teachers and parents linked to the account.
- Academic data - quiz and assignment responses, doubts asked, revision plans generated and attendance records.
- Operational data - fee ledgers, installment plans, batch schedules and teacher-load records.
- Technical data - device, browser and network information required to keep the platform running securely.
Why we handle it
We only use the data to operate the platform for the institute that owns the account. Academic data drives tutoring and adaptive practice. Operational data drives fees and scheduling. Technical data drives security, reliability and abuse prevention.
We do not sell personal data. We do not use student academic content to train third-party models without an explicit, written instruction from the institute.
We do not sell personal data. We do not use student academic content to train third-party models without an explicit, written instruction from the institute.
Who can see what, inside your institute
Access is role-scoped. Owners see the whole account. Teachers see academic and attendance data for the students they are responsible for. Administrators see fee and operational data. Parents see only their own child’s record. A summary access matrix is published on the Security page for reference.
Where data is stored
Primary storage is inside India. Backup regions are selected with legal and latency considerations. Every store, primary or backup, is encrypted. Data in transit between the platform and your browser or app is protected using TLS.
Sub-processors
A limited set of sub-processors is used to run parts of the platform - for example, transactional email delivery, cloud infrastructure and error monitoring. A current list is maintained and shared with institute owners on request. Sub-processors are contractually bound to handle data only under our instructions.
Retention
While a student is active on your roster, their data is retained to run the platform. When a student leaves, the record is archived for a defined period and then permanently deleted. Institute owners can request earlier deletion in writing.
Rights of the individuals in your account
Individuals have the right to know what data is held about them, to correct inaccurate information, and to request deletion within the limits of what the institute is legally required to retain. These requests are handled through the institute’s administrator, who acts as the first point of contact.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use a small set of first-party cookies and local storage entries to keep you signed in, remember your preferences and keep the platform secure. We do not run third-party advertising trackers on authenticated pages.
Security
The Security page describes our current posture, honestly - including where we do not yet claim formal certifications. That page is updated as our posture evolves.
Changes to this policy
Material changes are communicated to institute administrators through the account and, where relevant, by email. Continued use of the platform after a change signals acceptance of the updated policy.
